Quick Messaging
The Quick Messaging pages within Matrix allow users to manage and send messages to account contacts via SMS or Email. The following documentation instructs users on managing quick message content and sending messages to contacts.
Important: Prior to sending quick messages to contacts, they must first opt in to receive messages from the system. See the Opt In documentation for more information on how to configure contacts to receive SMS messages.
Quick Messaging Setup
The Quick Messaging Setup page allows users to add subject and message options users can select when composing messages. The following documentation will instruct users on how to manage subject and message options via the available tables and their toolbar options.
Quick Subjects Setup
The Quick Subjects Setup table displays all created subject lines for quick selection in Quick Message Compose. Subjects added to this table will appear in the Quick Subject drop-down when composing quick messages. The Quick Message Compose page is explained in more detail below.
Users can interact with the table via the available toolbar options. These options and their functions are defined below.

Add | Allows users to create new subjects for users to select. More information on adding subjects can be found below. |
Edit | Allows users to update the selected subject’s information. |
Delete | Removes an existing subject from the table. |
Reload | Refreshes the table to display up-to-date information. |
Adding Subjects
Selecting Add from the available toolbar options will open the Add Subject dialog box.
Perform the following steps to add a new subject option.
- Input an ID for the subject into the Subject Code field. This is how the system will recognize and sort the subject options.
- Input the desired subject line into the Subject Text field. This is the text that will populate the resulting email’s subject field.
- If desired, users can include any of the defined Message Codes to reference their applicable account information within the notification.
- Select Submit to complete adding the subject to the table.
The new subject will be available for use within Quick Message Compose after it has been submitted and saved to the Quick Subject Setup table.
Quick Notes Setup
The Quick Notes Setup table displays all created messages for quick selection in Quick Message Compose. Messages added to this table will appear in the Quick Message drop-down when composing quick messages. The Quick Message Compose page is explained in more detail below.
Users can interact with the table via the available toolbar options. These options and their functions are defined below.

Adding Notes
Selecting the Add option from the toolbar will open the Add Note dialog box.
Perform the following steps to add a new message option.
- Input an ID for the message into the Note Code field. This is how the system will recognize and sort the message options.
- Input the desired email body text into the Note Text field. This is the text that will populate the body of the resulting email.
- If desired, users can include any of the defined Message Codes to reference their applicable account information within the notification.
- Select Submit to complete adding the message to the table.
The new message will be available for use within Quick Message Compose after it has been submitted and saved to the Quick Notes Setup table.
Quick Messaging Compose
The Quick Messaging Compose page allows users to send brief SMS or email notifications to contacts on subscriber contact lists. Input a subscriber number into the Account Number field or select the magnifying glass icon to search for and select an account.
The selected subscriber’s contacts will populate the Quick Messaging Interface table. The displayed contacts cannot be edited from this page. If any contact information is incorrect and needs to be updated, you must update it via the Contacts tab within Matrix Data Entry.

Send Message
After selecting the desired contacts, selecting the Send Message option from the toolbar will open the Messaging dialog box.
Perform the following steps to send an SMS or email to the selected contacts.
- If applicable, select a preexisting subject line option from the Quick Subject drop-down.
- If a subject is selected, the Subject field will populate with the associated text. Users can update this field if applicable.
- Input the text that should populate the email’s subject line into the Subject field.
- If applicable, select a preexisting message option from the Quick Message drop-down.
- If a message is selected, the Message field will populate with the associated text. Users can update this field if applicable.
- Input the text that should populate the notification’s body into the Message field.
- If desired, users can include any of the defined Message Codes to reference their applicable account information within the notification.
- Select the desired Message Format from the drop down.
- Email & SMS: The recipient will receive both a text and email message.
- Email: The recipient will receive an email message only.
- SMS: The recipient will receive a text message only.
- Select Submit to complete sending the message.
- After the message has been successfully sent, a notification will display.
