Resolution Code Maintenance
The Resolution Code Maintenance page allows users to create and manage the Resolution Codes available to operators when handling alarms within Monitoring. Resolution Codes can be customized to perform certain actions within the software when used. The following documentation instructs users on how to create a Resolution Code and assign which actions will be taken when operators use the code to log an alarm within Monitoring.
Users can interact with the Alarm Resolution Entry table via the available toolbar options. These options are defined below.
Option | Function |
---|---|
Process Options | Allows users to add actions that occur when operators use the selected resolution within Monitoring. More information on assigning process options can be found below. |
Add | Allows users to create a new resolution code. More information on adding codes can be found below. |
Edit | Allows users to update the selected resolution code. |
Delete | Removes the selected resolution code from the table. |
Reload | Refreshes the table to display up-to-date information. |
Adding Resolution Codes
Selecting Add from the toolbar will display the Add Resolution Code dialog box.
Perform the following steps to add a resolution code.
- Input the desired two character code you would like to assign to the resolution into the Resolution Code field.
- This code is assigned to alarms within history when the resolution is added within Monitoring.
- Input a brief explanation of what the code will be used for into the Description Code field.
- This description assists operators when selecting which code to assign to an alarm when logging it.
- Input the category this alarm should be assigned to into the Type field.
- Users can also select the magnifying glass to search for and select a type.
- Select Save to complete creating the resolution code.
- Repeat the above steps as necessary to create additional codes.
Process Options
Selecting Process Options from the toolbar will display the Resolution Process dialog box for the selected Resolution Code. Process Options define actions the system will perform when the code is used to log an alarm. When the Resolution Code is used to log an alarm within Monitoring, the system will follow the assigned processes in the order they are added to the code. Users can interact with the Resolution Process table via the available toolbar options. These options are defined below.

Adding Processes
Selecting Add from the toolbar will display the Available Process Options dialog box. The available processes and their functions are defined below.
Process | Function |
---|---|
GENERATE ALARM TICKET | When the alarm is logged using this resolution, a ticket will be generated in the system for the alarm. |
MTRX INTERACTIVE ALARM REPORT | When the alarm is logged using this resolution, the interactive alarm report will be generated and emailed to the notify list assigned within Flag Maintenance. See the Flag Maintenance documentation for more information on updating available flag parameters. |
OUTBOUND VOICE TO CALL ON | When the alarm is logged using this resolution, the quantum operator will contact the applicable account notify list. |
Select all processes you would like to assign to the Resolution code. When operators use the Resolution Codes within Monitoring, the selected processes will automatically initiate in the assigned order. Users can add processes to each Resolution Code as necessary.
