Honeywell NVRs

This documentation instructs users on how to configure Honeywell DVRs via a browser window by logging in to the device. Users will be instructed in how to configure the device to send alarm signals to Matrix when motion is detected. See the Add Stream documentation for instructions on how to data enter cameras within Matrix.


Important

This document contains supplemental documentation intended to be used in conjunction with your Honeywell Users’ Manual. This document assumes the user is familiar with the setup and use of their device and has a copy of the applicable manual nearby to reference when necessary.

Please Note: Unless otherwise stated, the fields mentioned within this document are required for correct setup on the device. If any of these fields are not available to you, you may require a software update. Contact the manufacturer for additional information.

The screenshots within this documentation are of the browser interface for a Honeywell NVR. Your interface may look different or have different options available. Be sure to consult your manual to confirm you are updating the correct settings.



Before proceeding to the following setup instructions, access the NVR from your browser.

SMTP Configuration

This section instructs users on how to configure the camera’s SMTP settings to communicate with Matrix when triggering signals. See the Stream Management documentation for more information on camera SMTP settings.

Perform the following steps to create a recipient for the motion detection email.

  1. Select the Setup tab. image
  2. Select the Network option located on the left-hand sidebar menu. image
  3. Select the Email option located under the Network header.

    • This will display the Email configuration options. image
  4. Select the Enable option.
  5. Input the Server Address generated under the device’s SMTP Settings into the SMTP Server field.
  6. Input the Server Port number generated under the device’s SMTP Settings into the Port field.
  7. Select the Anonymous option.
  8. Input the Recipient address generated under the device’s SMTP Settings into the Sender field.
  9. Select None from the Encryption Type field.
    • Please note, after saving you will be prompted to confirm you wish to proceed without encryption. Select OK when prompted.
  10. Input DICE-NVR-DH1 into the Subject field.
  11. Select the Attachment option.
  12. Input the Recipient address generated under the device’s SMTP Settings into the Receiver field.
  13. Select the plus icon to add the recipient.
  14. Input 120 into the Interval Sec field.
  15. Input 60 into the Interval Min field.
  16. Select OK to complete configuring SMTP parameters on the NVR.

Motion Detection Setup

The Motion Detection functionality of your Honeywell NVR has to be configured to prompt the email to send when motion is identified in a particular area.

Perform the following steps to configure motion detection on the device.

  1. Select the Setup tab. image
  2. Select the Event option located on the left-hand sidebar menu. image
  3. Select the Video Detection option located under the Event header. image
    • This will display the Motion Detect options. image
  4. Select the Enable option.
  5. Select the desired channel from the Enable dropdown.
    • Please Note: Complete steps 1-9 for all channels you wish to send motion alarms.
  6. Select the Record Channel option.
  7. Input 10 into the Post Event Rec. field.
  8. Select the Snapshot option.
  9. Select the Send Email option.
  10. Select OK to complete motion detection setup.

Configure the Schedule

The device schedule must be configured to trigger on motion. This will ensure the NVR captures the necessary snapshot and attaches it to the SMTP email for delivery.

Perform the following steps to configure the device schedule.

  1. Select the Setup tab. image
  2. Select the Storage option located on the left-hand sidebar menu. image
  3. Select the Schedule option located under the Storage header. image
    • This will display the Record options. image
  4. Select the Snapshot tab. image
  5. Select Setup for the desired day of the week. image
    • This will display that day’s Setup options. image
  6. Select the MD option.
  7. Select the All option.
  8. Select OK to complete assigning Motion Detection to all days of the week.
