On/Off Test
On this page
The On/Off Test page allows users to schedule testing on accounts (e.g. placing zones on test for a specific date and time duration). Placing an account On Test allows users to create a time frame where certain signals will be system handled in order to check equipment or monitoring settings.
Users will be prompted to select their desired subscriber account when viewing on/off test information. See the Account Number Search documentation for more information on selecting a subscriber account.
Once an account is selected, any scheduled tests will populate the On/Off Test table. Users can interact with this table via the available toolbar options. These options are defined below.
Option | Function |
---|---|
Columns | Allows users to update what column information will display in the table. See the Column Management documentation for more information on how to update table columns. |
Rename | Allows users to update the column names as necessary. See the Column Management documentation for more information on how to update table columns. |
Save | Preserves any table changes (e.g. column layout or name changes) as default so the updated table configuration will display the next time the user views the page. This option applies to the user’s personal profile only. |
Delete All | Removes all scheduled tests from the table. |
History | Displays the testing history for the selected account. See the Matrix History documentation for more information on interacting with account history. |
Add | Allows users to schedule a new test on the account. More information on adding tests can be found below. |
Edit | Allows users to update existing tests as necessary. |
Delete | Removes the selected test from the table. If applicable, users will be prompted to remove linked accounts from test as necessary. |
Reload | Refreshes the table to display up-to-date information. |
Add
Selecting the Add will display the Add Disable dialog box for the selected account. Account address and time information will display for reference. This information cannot be updated and is read-only.
Note: Placing an account “On Disable” is the same as placing an account “On Test.”
Users can configure testing parameters for the scheduled test/disable via the available options. These options are defined in detail below.
Option | Function |
---|---|
Disable by Zone or Type | Allows users to identify what will be placed on test during the established time frame. Zone: Allows users to disable specific account zones. Select All to place the entire account on test. Type: Allows users to disable specific alarm types. The selected types will be system handled during the established test/disable time frame. |
Zone | Input the account zone that should be placed on test. Users can also select the magnifying glass icon to view and select the applicable zone or multiple zones as necessary. If any alarms are received from the selected zones during the established time frame, they will be system handled as testing signals. This option will only be available if Zone is selected from the Disable by Zone or Type options. |
Alarm Types | Select all applicable alarm types (e.g. LTC, LTO, LTT, BURG, etc.) that will be flagged as testing alarms. If the selected alarms are generated during the established time frame, they will be system handled as testing signals. This option will only be available if Type is selected from the Disable by Zone or Type options. |
Begin Date | Input the date and time (in 24-hour format) the selected zone(s) or alarm type(s) will begin to be placed on test. |
End Date | Input the date and time (in 24-hour format) the selected zone(s) or alarm type(s) will stop being on test/disable. |
Information | Input any miscellaneous information that should be noted on the test/disable into this field. |
Reason | Allows users to select an existing reason code for why the zone(s) or alarm type(s) are being placed on test/disable. |
Disable Runaway | Determines how runaway signals are handled on the selected zone(s) and alarm type(s). D: Disable. The zone/alarm type will be placed on test and all received signals will be system handled. R: Runaway. The first of each signal received will go to an operator for handling. Every subsequent signal will be system handled. The first signal will display a counter noting how many signals have been received. |
Clear Pending | If selected, all pending alarms on the account will be cleared prior to placing the account on test/disable. |
Except this Zone/Type | If selected, the selected zone(s) and alarm type(s) will not be placed on test/disable and all unselected zones or alarm types will be placed on test/disable instead. |
Time Inclusive | If selected and the account is scheduled to be on test/disable across multiple days, the zone(s) and alarm type(s) will remain on test across the entire span of time selected from the Begin Date and End Date fields. If deselected and the account is scheduled to be on test across multiple days, the account will be placed on test during the selected time frame for each day. For Example: If the following time frame was selected: Begin Date: 11/11/19 at 0900 and End Date: 11/14/19 at 1200. If this option is not selected, the account will be on test from 0900-1200 each day. If this option is selected, the account will be on test for a total of 75 hours. |
Valid Sunday-Saturday | Select the days of the week the account will be on test/disable. If the test time frame includes a deselected day, the account will not be on test during that day. For Example: If the following time frame was selected: Begin Date: 11/11/19 at 0900 and End Date: 11/14/19 at 1200. If Valid Tuesday is not selected, the account will only be on test on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday for the selected time frame. |
Quick Notes | Allows users to select a predefined note to add to the test/disable. |
