Dealer Zones

Users can configure how the system handles signal delays and notifies on subscriber accounts within the Zones tab. This option is used for automation settings regarding how and when incoming alarm signals are handled and processed within the system. Setting up Default Zone lists for subscriber accounts is managed elsewhere in Matrix. See the Default Zones documentation for more information on configuring default parameters.

Delay Signal By Type

The Delay Signal By Type sub-tab is used to manage when specific signal types will be delayed. In order to use this feature, the E/E Delay in Zones flag in the Handling Tab for Subscribers must be selected. Users can interact with the Delay Signal by Type table via the available toolbar options. These options are defined below.

Delete AllRemoves all delays from the table.
AddAllows the user to create a new delay. More information on adding delays can be found below.
EditAllows the user to update the selected delay’s information.
DeleteRemoves the selected delay from the table.
ReloadRefreshes the table to display up-to-date information.

Adding Delays

Selecting Add will display the Add Delay Signal by Type dialog box. Users can configure and maintain delays via the available options. These options are defined below.

Zone TypeThe signal type the delay will be applied to.
Com/ResThe property type assigned to the applicable subscriber accounts that the delay will affect.
C: Commercial. The delay will only affect subscribers defined as Commercial customers; e.g. a public place of business.
R: Residential. The delay will only affect subscribers defined as Residential customers; e.g. a private residence.
X: Other. The delay will only affect subscribers defined as Other customers; e.g. miscellaneous premises as defined by your central station.
DayThe day(s) of the week the delay will occur on. Selecting an option from the drop-down representing multiple days will populate the table with each day.
Sun-Sat: Individual days of the week.
Day: Business days only (Monday-Friday).
End: Weekend days only (Saturday & Sunday).
All: Every day of the week.
For Example: If END is selected, an entry for Sunday and Saturday will appear in the table.
FromThe time the delay will begin.
ToThe time the delay will end.
Delay UntilDelays signals during the given days until a specific time each day. Input the time signals should be delayed until into this field. Cannot be used in conjunction with the Delay For option.
Delay ForDelays each signal for a given number of seconds. Input the number of seconds signals should be delayed for into this field. Cannot be used in conjunction with the Delay Until option.
Type RequiresDetermines how the signal type will be handled.
O: Operator. Delayed signals are sent to an operator even if the signal was restored.
R: Restore. System handle restored signals after delay. If the signal has not been restored during the delay time, the signal will be sent to an operator for handling.
S: System. System handle all signals for the zone during the selected days and times. Delay times are non-functional with this selection.
V: Voice. Send the signal to Outbound Voice if a cancel is received.
/: Cancel. Cancel or Opening signals are handled the same as a Restoral. System Handle delayed signals only if a valid Cancel or Open was received for that signal, otherwise send to an Operator at the end of the delay.
Delay if Open/CloseDetermines how open/close signals are delayed.
Both: Open and Close signals will use this delay.
Close: Only Close signals will use this delay.
Open: Only Open signals will use this delay.
Check Schedule Before DelayDetermines if the account schedule is checked prior to delaying the signal.
Y: Check the schedule. If the signal occurred outside its valid window, it will be sent to an operator for handling.
N: Do not check the schedule, delay the signal as configured.

Select Save after configuring the delay as necessary.

Notify by Zone Type

The Notify by Zone Type sub-tab is used to create notification lists that send emails out every time an alarm signal of the selected type is handled by an operator. Users can interact with the Notify By Zone Type table via the available toolbar options. These options are defined below.

Adding a Notify by Zone Type

Selecting Add will display the Select Notify By Type dialog box.

Perform the following steps to create a notify by zone type list.

  1. Select all applicable zone types from the Zone Types list.
  2. Select the Email List tab.

  3. Select the magnifying glass to the right of the Email List field to search for and select applicable email addresses that should receive the notification.
  4. Select the desired email group you would like to send notifications to from the Email List table.
    • Note: users can add custom email groups to this table via the Notify Lists tab. See the Dealer Notify Lists documentation for more information on managing lists.
  5. Select the Select option from the toolbar.
  6. Select the applicable contact type from the Activate drop-down.
    • Both: Email list is active on the Dealer and Subscriber Levels. Note: if Both is selected, the chosen email list must have a counterpart list on the dealer level.
    • Level: Email list is active on the Dealer Level.
    • Subscriber: Email list is active on the Subscriber Level.
  7. Select Save.

Disabling Notify Lists

Users can place notify lists on disable if the notification settings should be saved for later use and not outright deleted from the table.

Perform the following steps to disable the notify by zone type list.

  1. Select the zone type that should be placed on disable from the Notify by Zone Type table.
  2. Select Edit from the toolbar options.
  3. Deselect the Enable option.

  4. Select Save.

Purge Pending

The Purge Pending tab allows you to set up predetermined parameters for false signals. Users can interact with the Purge Pending table via the available toolbar options. These options are defined below.

AddAllows the user to create new purge profiles. More information on adding new purge profiles can be found below.
EditAllows the user to update existing purge profiles.
DeleteRemoves the selected purge profile from the table.
ReloadRefreshes the table to provide up-to-date information.

Purge Pending system handles signals that come in within a certain period of time with another signal. The second signal acts as the Trigger signal, triggering the system to search for the first signal, the Target signal. When setting up Purge Pending, you also define the number of seconds after which the trigger signal occurs that the system searches for the target signal to system handle.

Adding a Purge Profile

Selecting Add will display the Add dialog box. Users can configure and maintain purge profiles via the available options. These options are defined below.

Trigger TypeThe alarm type that will activate the purge.
Target TypeThe alarm type the system will search for after encountering the Trigger Type alarm.
Number of SecondsThe number of seconds that should elapse after receiving a Trigger Type alarm prior to searching for the Target Type alarm.

Select Save after configuring the purge profile as necessary.
