Dealer Skin Maintenance

Dealer Skin Maintenance is used to customize SMS notifications sent to contacts within the system. The following documentation instructs users on how to modify notification colors and content. See the SMS Notify documentation for more information on configuring contacts to receive SMS notifications.

Select Application

Users can determine the notification and dealer they will be editing via the available Select Application options. These options are defined below.

ApplicationDetermines which DICE application will be updated.
Currently, SMS is the only available application users can update. Additional applications are under development.
PageDetermines which message notification layout will be updated. Depending on which type is selected, users will have access to various layout options. More information on managing notifications can be found below.
Alarm: Allows users to update the Alarm Notification layout. This is the notification contacts will receive notifying them of alarm signals generated on their account.
Billing: Allows users to update the Billing Notification layout. This is the notification contacts will receive notifying them of their bill status.
Opt In: Allows users to update the SMS Opt In request notification layout.
Opt Out: Allows users to update the SMS Opt Out request notification layout.
DealerDetermines which dealer account the user is updating. If this option is left blank, the system default message skin will be updated.

Form

After selecting a notification type from the Page dropdown, the Form section will display layout options users can interact with to update the appearance of the notification. Instructions for managing each notification type can be found below.

When updating notification layouts, users will have access to three button options within the Form section. These options are defined below.

Default SkinApplies the current notification default settings to the layout appearance.
Save SkinPreserves any changes made to the layout appearance.

All Page forms will contain the following appearance modifier options. Each option is defined below. Additional information on Alarm and Billing page specific modifier options can be found below. The Opt In and Opt Out pages only have color modifier options which are described below.

Allows users to upload an image to display on the notification.

Allows users to update the color of the notification title. If desired, users can select a second color to create a fading effect.

Alarm Info

Allows users to update the color of the event information. If desired, users can select a second color to create a gradient effect.

Content

Allows users to update the color of the account/premise information.

Buttons/Payment Options

Allows users to update the color of the available interactive options. If desired, users can select a second color to create a gradient effect.

Alarm

Selecting Alarm allows users to update the appearance of alarm activity notifications after configuring the color options described above.

Perform the following steps to update the appearance of alarm SMS notifications.

  1. Input the event contacts will be notified on into the Alarm Type field.
    • Users can also select the magnifying glass icon to search for and select an alarm type.
  2. If applicable, input any additional information that should be included with the notification into the Note field. image
  3. Input the first button label into the Text field within the Button 1 header. image
  4. Select the icon option to view the Select an Icon table.
  5. Select the icon you believe best signifies the meaning of the button from those available.
  6. Select what action the button will perform when selected from the Type dropdown.
    • Call: Contacts the account’s corresponding central station so the individual can speak to an operator.
    • Cancel: Generates a cancel alarm for operators/the system to handle.
    • Disregard: Does not generate any kind of alarm for handling. The disregard will be written to the account history.
    • Dispatch: Authorizes operators to send the appropriate authorities to the premises.
    • Service: Generates a service ticket for the account.
  7. Repeat steps 12-15 for up to three buttons as necessary.
  8. Select Save Skin to complete updating the notification layout.

Repeat the above steps as necessary for additional alarm types, dealers, etc.

Billing

Selecting Billing allows users to update the appearance of notifications received to inform contacts of payments due on their account.

Perform the following steps to update the appearance of billing notifications after configuring the color options described above.

  1. If desired, input a message into the Lower Left Note field to display on the notification.
  2. If desired, input a message into the Lower Right Note field to display on the notification.
  3. Select Save Skin to complete updating the notification layout.

Repeat the above steps as necessary for alternate dealers.
