Dealer Group Maintenance

The Group Maintenance tab is used to manage subdealers. Each subdealer is listed in the Groups section. Subdealers, Groups, and Global are terms often used synonymously for dealers within dealers. For ease of understanding subdealers are how groups will be referred within this documentation. The following documentation will instruct users on how to create and maintain subdealer information.

Users can interact with the dealer’s existing subdealers via the Add Group and Move Account options. These options and their functions are defined below.

Add Group

Selecting Add Group will display the Add Group dialog box. Users can create additional subdealers as necessary using the available options.

Perform the following steps to add a new subdealer profile to the dealer.

  1. Input the identifier for the new subdealer into the Group Name field.
  2. Input a brief explanation of the subdealer into the Description field.
  3. Select the Link Grouping option to link all accounts under this subdealer together.
    • For Example: If one of this subdealer’s accounts was placed on test, all associated accounts will be displayed and also placed on test. This depends on your flag setup options.
  4. If applicable, select an existing subdealer the new subdealer should be assigned to.
    • This will create a hierarchy of subdealers within the dealer.
  5. Select Save to complete adding the new subdealer to the dealer.

Move Account

Selecting the Move Account option will open the Select Account dialog box. Users can quickly move single accounts to subdealers as necessary using the available options.

Perform the following steps to move an account to a subdealer.

  1. Select the magnifying glass next to the Select Account field to search for and select the account you wish to move.
  2. Select the Select option once an account is selected.
  3. Select all applicable subdealers the account should be moved to from the Select Groups table.
  4. Select Save to complete moving the account.

Group Maintenance

Select a subdealer from the Groups list to open the management settings for the applicable subdealer.

Users can configure subdealer settings via the available sub-tabs. The sub-tabs and their maintenance options are described in more detail below.

Group/Account Maintenance

The Group/Account Maintenance sub-tab is used to assign accounts to the subdealer. Users can add or remove accounts from the subdealer as necessary via the accounts table.

Perform the following steps to update which accounts are assigned to the subdealer.

  1. Select the minus symbol to remove a currently assigned account from the subdealer.
    • Users can also select the Remove All option to remove all accounts from the subdealer.
  2. Select the plus symbol to add an account to the subdealer.
    • Users can also select the Add All option to add all dealer accounts to the subdealer.
  3. Select Save to complete assigning accounts to the subdealer.

Contacts

The Contacts sub-tab is used to manage contacts assigned to the subdealer.

Group contacts are data entered using the same options available when creating subscriber/dealer contacts. See the Data Entry Add Contacts documentation for detailed instructions on creating contact profiles.

Call Lists

The Call Lists sub-tab is used to manage the list of contacts called for a given signal type as defined in an account’s list of zones.

Users can configure call lists on the subdealer-level the same way they would on the dealer-level. See the Dealer Call Lists documentation for more information on managing dealer call lists.

Notify By Zone Type

The Notify by Zone Type sub-tab is used to create notification lists that send emails out every time an alarm signal of the selected type is handled by an operator.

Users configure zone notify types on the subdealer-level the same way they would on the dealer-level. See the Dealer Zones documentation for more information on managing zones.

Notify Lists

The Notify Lists sub-tab is used to add, edit, and delete lists of email addresses used to contact specific groups of people regarding defined alarm events.

Notes

The Notes sub-tab is used for subdealer-level Permanent and Temporary notes, as well as Data Entry Instructions. These note types and their function are described below.

Permanent

The Permanent sub-tab is for notes that are always relevant to the subdealer. The notes saved here will always display in data entry unless they are deleted.

Temporary

The Temporary sub-tab is for notes that have an expiration date. Group Temporary Notes are data entered using the same options available when creating subscriber temporary notes. See the Add Temporary Notes documentation for instructions on how to add temporary notes.

Data Entry Instructions

The Data Entry Instructions sub-tab is for notes that contain instructions or rules that data entry personnel must follow when inputting/updating information on the subdealer’s account.

Fax/Email

The Fax/Email sub-tab is used to customize settings for reports sent via fax and email. Users can configure fax/email settings on the subdealer-level the same way they would on the dealer-level. See the Dealer Other Tab documentation for more information on fax/email settings.

AM Notify

The AM Notify sub-tab is used to set up an automated report sent via email or fax. An AM Notify is not a type of report, but is instead used to send reports to dealers, subscribers, or centrals. By default, if an AM notify report fails to be sent, an AMNOTIFY signal is generated. Users can configure AM notify settings on the subdealer-level the same way they would on the dealer-level. Batch

The Batch sub-tab is used to manage batch reports. Batch reports are sent out to a list of predetermined contacts at a specified time. Users can configure batch report settings on the subdealer-level the same way they would on the dealer-level. See the Dealer Other Tab documentation for more information on batch report settings.

Notify by Email Type

The Notify by Email Type sub-tab is used to customize the various types of emails sent out by the subdealer. Users can configure email notification settings on the subdealer-level the same way they would on the dealer-level.
