The Zones tab within Data Entry is where users create and manage zones and zone information assigned to subscriber accounts. Zones function as alarm signal masking. When the panel relays signaling information, users can create zones within Matrix to ensure the proper alarm signal is received and handled accordingly.
The available sub-tabs allow users to define zone and signaling information on the account. These tabs are briefly defined below.
Please Note: Users can also define zones on the Dealer level. When assigned to dealers, the zones will automatically apply to all accounts assigned to that dealer. See the Dealer Maintenance documentation for more information on managing Dealers.
|Zones||Users manage the zones assigned to the subscriber under this tab. Zones can be defined to customize the description and behavior of events received from the panel. See the Zones documentation for more information on managing subscriber zones.|
|Area Description||Users manage areas assigned to the subscriber under this tab. Areas can be used to group sets of zones together. See the Area Description documentation for more information on managing areas.|
|Delay Signal by Type||Users determine if the system should postpone delivery of certain signals under this tab. See the Delay Signal by Type documentation for more information on managing signal delays.|
|App Service Action by Type||Users can configure the system to perform an action when operators handle specific alarm types under this tab. The action can be either opening a URL or file. See the App Service Action by Type documentation for more information on managing service actions.|
|Notify by Zone Type||Users manage notifications sent out when alarms are received under this tab. See the Notify by Zone Type documentation for more information on managing zone notifications.|
|Custom Chart Codes||Users can customize existing chart codes to suit their needs under this tab.|
