Data Entry Admin
Data Entry Admin is used by administrative users to change account numbers, copy accounts and account data, delete accounts, reactivate/inactivate accounts, and make changes to chart codes.
In order for a user to have access to Data Entry Admin, the user must be assigned Supervisory Data Entry under User Level in Matrix User Maintenance. See the Matrix User Maintenance documentation for more information on managing user permissions.
Reactivate/Inactive Account
The Reactivate Inactive Account tab is used to update account statuses between inactive and active within the system as necessary.

Account Number | Input an account number or use the magnifying glass to lookup and select an account number to update. Inactive account numbers appear in the account lookup in red. |
Scheduled Activation Changes | Selecting this button will display the accounts already scheduled to be activated or deactivated. Users can select accounts from the displayed list to make changes as necessary to the activation/deactivation status. |
Status | Displays the ACTIVE/INACTIVE status of the account. |
Subscriber Info | Populates with general account information. Account Number: The subscriber’s assigned system ID. Dealer: The Dealer Account assigned to oversee the Subscriber. Dealer Name: The company name or main contact’s full name of the assigned Dealer. Company Name: The official business name or main contact’s full name of the Subscriber. Address Fields: The Subscriber’s mailing address. |
Options
The available activate/inactivate options will differ depending on the current status of the selected subscriber.
Inactive subscriber’s will have options to reactivate their account in the system.
Active subscribers will have options to deactivate their account in the system.
All available activate/inactivate option fields are defined below.

Reactivate/Inactivate Now | Select this option to immediately reactivate or inactivate the account. This is an alternative to setting a specific date using the Reactivation Date/Inactivate Date fields. |
Reactivation/Inactivation Date | Determines the date the account will become active/inactive as determined by the user. This field’s default value is the current date. |
Reason | Input an explanation on why the account is being inactivated in this field. The if reactivating an account, this field is not available. |
Message | Input a brief note about why the account’s status is being changed into this field. Users can also search for and select a predetermined message by selecting the magnifying glass icon. |
After setting the inactivate/reactivate specifications, select Reactivate/Inactivate. The account will then be updated according to the specifications set.
Change Account
The Change Account tab is used to change one account number to another account number. You can choose whether or not this change applies retroactively to history and billing, and whether or not it reactivates inactivated accounts. This function can also partition old accounts with the new account number.

From Account | The account number being changed. Input the number or use the magnifying glass to lookup and select the account number. You can use a question mark (? ) wildcard character in this field. For example, if you wanted to change all accounts starting with the letters AA to BC , you can input AA??? into this field to change all account numbers beginning with AA and followed by three characters. |
To Account | The new account number being applied. This will rename all existing files to the new account number. You can use a question mark (? ) wildcard character in this field. To continue the example above, inputting BC??? in this field will change all AA??? account numbers to BC??? . If an account number already exists, the system will inform you that the number is already in use and will not change it. |
Change in History? | Select to retroactively update the account number in account history. |
Change in billing? | Select to change the account number in Dealer Billing. |
Reactivate accounts? | This flag dictates whether or not inactive account numbers are reactivated when changing account numbers. Leaving this field blank will allow the system to change the account number without reactivating the account. |
Partition Accounts? | Selecting this option will create blind partitions out of the old accounts. Accounts whose numbers were changed will then be partitioned with the new account number. This allows you to change receiver settings for the updated account number without interrupting the subscriber’s service. |
After setting the specifications, select Submit to change the specified account numbers.
Copy Subscriber
The Copy Subscriber tab is used to replace one account’s data with the data from a different account. For Example: Account A already exists in the system. The user would like to copy all of Account A’s data to Account B. Using this feature, Account B’s existing data (if applicable), will be overwritten by Account A’s when complete.

Options | In this section you can select the specific account data to be copied. Use the Select/Deselect All checkbox to select or deselect all the data types, or select/deselect the data types individually. Use the Next Billing Date and Billing Activity Date to configure when billing should begin on the second account. |
After setting the specifications, select Submit to copy the specified account numbers.
Copy Subscriber Data
The Copy Subscriber Data tab is used to also copy account data from one account to another; however, users have greater control over how information is copied or replaced between accounts.

Options | In this section you can select the specific account data to be copied. Use the Select/Deselect All checkbox to select or deselect all the data types, or select/deselect the data types individually. The rightmost data types have four options in their drop down: - Y: Yes, copy data - N: No, do not copy data - A: Copy data from the first account and add it to the data in the second - R: Copy the data and replace the data in the second account |
Select Submit to copy the specified account data to another account.
Delete Subscriber
The Delete Account tab is used to delete account numbers, with the option to delete the account’s history and service tickets.

Subscriber Info | Displays the subscriber information for the account number input above. |
Delete History? | Select to delete the account’s history along with the account. |
Delete Service Tickets? | Select to delete the account’s service tickets along with the account. |
Delete Date | Select this field to open the calendar tool to select the account’s deletion date according to Dealer Billing. |
Reason | Use the magnifying glass to lookup and select a deletion reason code. |
The Print CIS report opens options to print or email a CIS report for the account being deleted. The tabs at the top of the dialog are used to determine which pieces of account information will be included on the CIS report.
Once you’ve selected the account information you want to appear on the CIS report, use the Print button to select a printer to send the CIS report to, or use the Email function to select one or more email addresses to send the CIS report to. The email addresses that appear here are from the account, dealer, and central level. The Add Email function can also be used to add an email address that does not appear in the list.
After setting the deletion specifications, select Submit to delete the account number.
Assign Accounts
The Assign Accounts tab is used to designate or remove Account numbers to Dealer accounts. The available options are defined below.

The Find Block button is used to locate a series of accounts that can be designated to the selected Dealer account number.

Account Prefix | Alphanumeric code the desired accounts will begin with. E.g.: Accounts A1100-A1200 have the prefix A1. |
From Panel | Alphanumeric code the desired accounts will start from. To continue the example above, the From Panel would be 100. |
To Panel | Alphanumeric code the desired accounts will end at. To continue the example above, the To Panel would be 200. |
Quantity | Desired number of Accounts. |
Include Hex? | Select to only return accounts alphabetically. |
Consecutive? | Select to only return accounts sequentially. |
After setting the block specifications, select Submit to return the desired series of accounts.
Chart Code Maintenance
The Chart code Maintenance tab is used to make changes to chart codes on the global, residential, or commercial level. Selecting a chart code type from the drop down will populate the list of chart codes and chart code details.

Chart Code Type | Select from this drop down the type of chart code you’d like to make changes to. Selecting a chart code type from this drop down will populate the rest of the page; the Chart Code Lookup section will populate with all chart codes within that type and Chart Code Details will populate with the individual chart codes’ handling settings. |
Chart Code Lookup | Displays a list of all chart codes within the type selected from the Chart Code Type drop down. |
Chart Code Details | Populates with the existing handling settings for the chart code. See the Zones documentation for more information on managing zone information. |
Override Type | Select from the drop down the level at which this change applies: Global: Makes changes to the chart code for all account types. Commercial: Makes changes to the chart code for commercial accounts only. Residential: Makes changes to the chart code for residential accounts only. |
Show/Hide Advanced Delays | If a chart code has any other delays applied to it, select Show/Hide Advanced Delays to view those delays and make changes to them as needed. See the Zones documentation for more information on managing zone information. |
If there is an existing override on the chart code you’d like to remove, select Delete Override. Confirm that you’d like to delete the override by selecting Yes.
Blocked Account Entry
The Blocked Account Entry tab is used to block or unblock account numbers within the system. Blocked account numbers cannot be data entered in the system for subscribers or dealers. Account numbers currently in use cannot be blocked or unblocked.
Inputting an account number into the Account to Block or Unblock field will display that account’s status within the system. Users can also select the magnifying glass icon to search for and select an account.
Unblocking an account number that is currently blocked will free that account number for use under its respective dealer. Once unblocked, users will be able to create an account using the unblocked number.
Blocking an account number that is currently not blocked will restrict the account number from being used in the system. Once blocked, users will be unable to create an account using the blocked number.
Reassign Accounts
The Reassign Accounts tab is used to transfer one dealer’s accounts to an alternate dealer.
Perform the following steps to reassign accounts.
- Input the dealer whose accounts you would like to move to an alternate dealer into the From Dealer field.
- Users can also select the magnifying glass icon to search for and select a dealer account.
- Input the dealer the From Dealer’s accounts will be assigned to into the To Dealer field.
- Users can also select the magnifying glass icon to search for and select a dealer account.
- Input the first account number that should be reassigned into the From Account field.
- Users can also select the magnifying glass icon to search for and select a dealer account.
- Input the last account number that should be reassigned into the To Account field.
- Users can also select the magnifying glass icon to search for and select a dealer account.
- Select Submit to complete reassigning accounts.
Copy Dealer
The Copy Dealer tab is used to duplicate one dealer’s settings to a new dealer account. Users can define which information is copied to the new dealer via the available options. These options are defined below.
Perform the following steps to copy dealer information to a new dealer account.
- Input the existing dealer account you would like to copy information from into the Dealer to Copy From field.
- Users can also select the magnifying glass icon to search for and select a dealer.
- Input a new dealer account number into the Dealer to Copy To field.
- This is the new dealer account that will be created with the copied information.
- If applicable, update the new dealer’s name within the New Dealer Name field.
- Select all applicable information that should be copied to the new dealer.
- The available options are defined below.
- Select Submit to complete creating a new dealer with the copied information.

Dealer Contacts | If selected, all contacts assigned to the existing dealer will be copied to the new dealer. If deselected, the Call Lists, Email Info, and Contact Paging Info will become read-only and cannot be selected as their information is tied to contacts directly. |
Call Lists | If selected, all call lists assigned to the existing dealer will be copied to the new dealer. |
Email Info | If selected, all email information assigned to the existing dealer’s contacts will be copied to the new dealer. |
Contact Paging Info | If selected, all paging information assigned to the existing dealer’s contacts will be copied to the new dealer. |
Dealer Extensions | If selected, any extensions assigned to the existing dealer will be copied to the new dealer. |
Dealer Access Options | If selected, any Access options assigned to the existing dealer will be copied to the new dealer. |
Dealer Billing | If selected, any accounting information assigned to the existing dealer will be copied to the new dealer. |
Dealer AM Notify Info | If selected, any AM Notify settings assigned to the existing dealer will be copied to the new dealer. |
Copy Use Subdealer Flag | If selected, the Use Subdealer flag settings assigned to the existing dealer will be copied to the new dealer. |
Dealer Resolutions | If selected, all resolution codes assigned to the existing dealer will be copied to the new dealer. |
Dealer Chart Codes | If selected, all chart codes assigned to the existing dealer will be copied to the new dealer. |
Dealer Day Notes | If selected, any notes written under the Day tab on the existing dealer will be copied to the new dealer. |
Dealer Night Notes | If selected, any notes written under the Night tab on the existing dealer will be copied to the new dealer. |
Dealer General Notes | If selected, any notes written under the General tab on the existing dealer will be copied to the new dealer. |
Dealer Type Notes | If selected, any notes written under the Zone Type tab on the existing dealer will be copied to the new dealer. |
Dealer Video Scripts | If selected, any scripts assigned to the existing dealer will be copied to the new dealer. |
Dealer Fax Info | If selected, any fax settings assigned to the existing dealer will be copied to the new dealer. |
Copy Signal Delay | If selected, any signal delays assigned to the existing dealer will be copied to the new dealer. |
Alarm Escalate Groups
The Alarm Escalate Groups tab allows users to create and manage groups of operators alarms can be escalated to when handling alarm signals within Matrix Monitoring. Users can interact with the Alarm Escalate Groups table via the available toolbar options. These options are defined below.

Add | Allows users to create new escalation groups. Once created, groups cannot be updated, only deleted. More information on adding groups can be found below. |
Delete | Removes the selected group from the system. |
Reload | Refreshes the table to display up-to-date information. |
Add
Selecting Add from the toolbar will display the Add Group to List dialog box.
Users can input the desired operator Track Group they wish to add to the escalation group into the Track Group field. Users can also select the magnifying glass icon to search for and select a Track Group. Track Groups are created and managed within DICE CORE.
Once assigned, when operators select the Escalate option within Alarm Handling, the alarm will be sent back to pending within the applicable Track Group.
Inactivate/Reactivate By Dealer
The Inactivate/Reactivate By Dealer tab allows users to update Dealer account statuses between inactive and active as necessary.
Input the desired dealer account number into the Dealer field.
- Users can also select the magnifying glass icon to search for and select a dealer account.
- Once a dealer is selected, the Dealer Info section will populate with the dealer’s assigned name and address information.
Depending on the dealer’s status, users will have access to either Reactivate or Inactivate the dealer. More information on interacting with dealer accounts via these options can be found below.
Reactivate
If a currently inactive dealer account is selected, users can activate the dealer (and any of its inactive accounts) via the Reactivate option.
Perform the following steps to reactivate a currently inactive dealer account.
- Select the magnifying glass icon next to the Reason field.
- This will display all available reason codes for why the dealer is being reactivated.
- Select Reactivate.
- Confirm the reactivation by selecting Yes.
The dealer and all its assigned subscriber accounts is now reactivated within the system.
Inactivate
If a currently active dealer account is selected, users can deactivate the dealer (and any of its active accounts) via the Inactivate option.
Perform the following steps to deactivate a currently active dealer account.
- If applicable, select the Inactivate Now option.
- This cannot be used in conjunction with the Inactivate Date option.
- If selected, the dealer will be deactivated once the user has completed steps 3-5.
- If applicable, select the date the dealer should be deactivated from the Inactivate Date calendar tool.
- This cannot be used in conjunction with the Inactivate Now option.
- Select the magnifying glass icon next to the Reason field.
- This will display all available reason codes for why the dealer is being deactivated.
- Select Inactivate to complete deactivating the dealer and all its assigned accounts.
